Meet Our Pastor
Reverend (Dr.) DL Taylor serves as the Pastor of Prince of Peace Church, Biloxi, MS. The Church vision statement is “Preparing the Vineyard for the Next Generation”, Isaiah 32:15-18.
He is the third pastor in the young church’s 24-year history, which by the grace of God, has never had a single day without a pastor.
Reverend Taylor is convicted that the Church must operate outside the four walls, be committed to outreach and respond to the “Great Commission”. He believes strongly that “People don’t care how much you know until you show how much you care.” Developing a relationship with God is essential to developing a relationship with people. Pastor Taylor also believes that whatever your station in life, especially as a pastor or leader, you must have Vision – Passion – Attitude – Commitment (VPAC).
Reverend Taylor received his license as a Christian Minister, from New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Colorado Springs, CO, from the late Pastor James H. McMearn and was ordained as a Christian Minister, by Reverend (Dr.) Kenneth E. Hollins, Pastor, New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Biloxi, MS. He is a graduate of the Mississippi Baptist Seminary & Bible College and received his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Lift Bible Crusade College & Seminary Inc., Ocean Springs, MS.
Doctor Taylor is a native of New York City and raised in Wildwood, Florida. The eldest of fifteen (nine boys, six girls). Upon graduating DeVry Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving until he retired January 1997. Dr. Taylor met his future wife, Ms. Geraldine L. Gissendaner, during his first assignment, in the hallways of Tyndall AFB Hospital and pursued her until she agreed to unite with him in holy matrimony.
As stated, Dr. Taylor is married to Geraldine Taylor, his loving, beautiful wife, of the last 43 years. They have 4 Children and 9 grandchildren, and 2 greatgrandchildren. Colonel Isaac (Olita) Taylor; USA; MSgt(Ret) Shenika D. Taylor, USAF; LtCol André (Maurine) Taylor, USAF; Ms. Andrea May and a host of others grafted into the “Taylor Family – Est 1979”.
